I’ve been thinking lately about the strength behind this deliberate choice of going your own way. It’s a choice that many men have made. But why is going your own way so empowering?
First of all going your own way comes with many rewards, but also with sacrifice. In my opinion one of the greatest rewards is time. For others, it might be money. That’s all great, but I think there is more behind the power of the act of going your own way. I’d say that by going your own way you gain the advantage of an undervalued force called ‘emptiness.’
The twenty-first chapter of the Tao Te Ching talks about the path of emptiness. Although it’s an intangible and evasive path, you’ll find vitality and order within it.
